Shredding...my new job

So i finally got a new job, but its only for a couple of weeks. Im helping get the school ready for kids at KGH. Yesterday I did some shredding for the District office. They had like six huge boxes full of records from like 1995 and 1994, not just KGH records but lunch records from the all of the schools here in sitka. I, personally like shredding so this job was ok for me. I also found some cool papers. One with a poem on it and one with some qoutes, i think i will share with you my finds. Some of the quotes are kind of weird.

HEY LADY!

By Betty DeLozier

I wrote you a letter. Did you see?

It says, "I love you." Do you love me?

Would you love me just a little today?

We don't got much food on our table,

'Cause my dad don't work...he ain't able.

Hey, Lady, I sure am hungry today.

My face is dirty, and my hair ain't combed,

'Cause Mom was asleep when I left home.

Hey, Lady, would you say "Hi" to me today?

I didn't get very much sleep last night,

'Cause Mom and Dad, well, they had a fight.

Hey, Lady, would you smile at me today?

My dad got drunk and so did my mother.

Then he beat me and my little brother.

Hey, Lady would you hug me today?

The other kids, they make fun of me.

My clothes is dirty, and I got a hole in my knee.

Hey, Lady, would you be my friend today?

Well, Mom and Dad, they always yell.

My life at home is a living hell.

Hey, Lady, please love me today.

Hey, Lady, won't somebody love me today?

Isn't that a sad poem?? I thought so. Well..im going to get going. bye ~Danielle
